Laughing Yoga Session


Nikki E. Akparewa, RN, MSN/MPH is an advanced practice nurse and wellness coach who loves to use the joyful nature of laughter to help people create healing in their bodies by building awareness of self.

Laughter Yoga even strengthens the immune system which not only prevents you from falling sick, but also helps to heal a variety of illnesses like hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, depression, arthritis, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, backache, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, menstrual disorders, cancer and more.

As a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, Nikki also uses laughter and lightness as a means to open conversations on diversity, inclusion and social justice.

Laughter yoga helps to create a positive mental state to deal with stigma, negative situations and negative people giving hope and optimism to cope with difficult times.  By guiding individuals to create self-induced laughter through relaxation techniques and yogic breathing, we can spread the positive energy of joy to others and create global communities of wellness.  Nikki currently lives in Maryland, with her husband and son (who has sickle cell). She will be hosting a Yoga session here in the Seattle area on July 9th 2pm- 4pm ( 614 E 64th St, Tacoma, WA 98404). Please refer the calendar for more information.
